The virus, the Novel Coronavirus, began infecting people in Wuhan, China in December. There are now 13,950 cases worldwide and 304 dead. (13,801 of the cases are in China.) Numerous Chinese cities with a total population of over 50 million people (including Wuhan) are under full or partial lockdown to help stop the spread of the virus. There are now eight cases in the US, and new cases in Japan, Singapore, and elsewhere.
